Service Technician Job Description
Gregg & Sons Mechanical is seeking talented and motivated technicians to join our team and meet our service needs in the Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration areas.
Job Type:
- Full-Time
Pay:
- $40 +/- hr. Compensation is based on qualifications and experience.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Technicians must be able to troubleshoot, research, repair, and maintain all types of commercial HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment for school districts, state and healthcare facilities, institutions, restaurants, warehouses, refrigerated trucks, and others. Cooking experience is preferred.
- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC, Refrigeration, and cooking equipment.
- Able to suggest any additional repairs needed.
- Keep accurate, easy-to-read records of work performed.
- Must take part in On-Call schedule, work on weekends or holidays as required.
- Maintain safe work habits.
- Maintain and care for all shop tools, equipment, and company property.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining an efficient and respectful level of service and communication.
- Attend company training and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration equipment service (REQUIRED). Candidate must have knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, servicing and troubleshooting these types of systems.
- Knowledge of the use of tools specific to the trade.
- Knowledge of essential electrical and mechanical components for installing, dismantling, and repairing equipment.
- Able to read, understand, and work from specifications, blueprints, schematics, diagrams of the equipment and tech support.
- Able to meet the physical demands generally required to perform their duties in this trade environment. This includes, but is not limited to, being able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, reach, push, pull, twist, work in narrow spaces, and move freely in the performance of the position, etc.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Clear Driving Record
- Cooking equipment experience (preferred)
- CFESA certified (preferred)
- EPA certification
- Able to understand and follow instructions
- Able to commute to headquarters in Townsend, DE
